Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's appeal to the courts to end the teachers' strike set off a new round of recriminations on Monday, but it did not appear to be leading to a quick resolution of the walkout. (Sept. 17)
Jay: Honestly trying to speak as someone who's neither white nor black I don't think anything about race relations movements today is very beneficial. There's hate on both sides and it seems to be reaching a boiling point. If anyone on either race speaks in defense of the others views they are torn down by their own race. Terms like "privilege" are thrown around. I try to not define myself by my race while not forgetting my heritage. Very few people seem capable of doing that today.
