Casey Kasem, the smooth-voiced radio broadcaster who became the king of the top 40 countdown, has died at age 82. Danny Deraney, publicist for Kasem's daughter, Kerri, says Kasem died Sunday morning. (June 15)
Fran Spear: I hope he survives the fallout. The behavior in the USA is drawn from "high school level" behavior where conformity becomes the sole power point and groups will do anything to make somebody bow to their authority - even if their authority is insane. This generation in America had better wise up. People operate above highschool level and do not require everybody "fall in step", dye their hair yellow, all use the same cell phones, etc. The Japanese/Chinese obsession with "sameness" is threatening the idividual in the USA and we are a nation of individuals. Stand on your own, just do it.
