A recent California State Supreme Court ruling settles what has been an ongoing issue in the workplace -- providing meal and rest breaks for their employees.
John: I realized once again that the Democrats like Hillary are career politicians and have no idea how a dynamic economy works. I heard her promise to provide more government services and spending and tax the rich to pay for it. Then spend more money on infrastructure thus continuing our deficit spending. I agree with raising taxes on the wealthy but not to expand spending but along with reductions in spending. Somehow we need to provide disincentives for corporations to pay out such exorbitant amounts to senior execs with incentives for hiring and investments in companies that will grow profits and grow the wage base. For instance the Yahoo chairman should not get 200MM for selling off the biz, however if she does, tax it at 75 percent so that this type of non-productive activity is not rewarded. Similar to a tariff. We want companies hiring more living wage positions not concentrating their compensation at the top. Goes for Wall Street as well that makes exorbitant fees just trading paper with no real productive purpose. Higher taxes for Wallstreet gamblers!
