November 16, 2012

Bangladesh post its independence has come a long way and has established itself in the international arena as a moderate Islamic nation, with its democratic credentials intact. In an exclusive interview with ANI, noted journalist and the Roving Editor of the Telegraph, Sankarshan Thakur explained that while Bangladesh has managed to strengthen its democratic roots, it still has not achieved that much of stability, which will make India and its other neighbouring countries confident about it. However, he added that last time elections in Bangladesh were conducted in a fair manner. Elaborating on its political status, Sankarshan said that Bangladesh is swinging between two radically opposite political parties and an election in the country can bring a radically staunch opposition to power.
