Bangladesh hopes for faster trials of war criminals

Executive Director for Bangladesh's Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE), Rasheda K Choudhury has expressed her dismay at the lengthy process of war crime trials in the country. Choudhury said that trials for crimes against humanity has been a long process and hoped that the wait would be over soon. Choudhury said that since the process of the trials had finally begun, this year's victory day holds special significance for Bangladesh. Bangladesh is celebrating the Vijay Diwas (Victory Day) today, to commemorate the liberation of the country, formerly known as East Pakistan after the 1971 war with Pakistan.
