Bangla garment factory blaze: 120 charred

A fire swept through a garment factory on the outskirts of Bangladesh's capital today, killing at least 120 people, in the worst accident for the booming industry in recent years. The windows in the building were all burnt out, with smoke still rising from parts of the factory. Firefighters and soldiers took turns pulling out bodies, putting them on trishaws to be pushed away to a nearby makeshift morgue. The fire at the nine-story factory in the Ashulia industrial belt started on the ground floor late on November 24 and quickly spread, trapping hundreds of workers.
