It would mean appearing as someone who comprehends the complex issues facing us. It's much better if he remains an entertainer confabulating wingnut "facts." The authentic Trump is the guy the alt-right loves. They would be disappointed if moved from making extremist and false statements to someone who appeared to know and understand issues.
