Video: Woman rescued by NYPD officers atop 54-story building in Manhattan

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A woman was rescued by police officers atop a 54-story building in Manhattan last week, according to the NYPD.

The rescue happened along East 29th Street. The woman, who appeared to be having a crisis, had climbed over a glass divider to the building’s edge, according to authorities.

Members of the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit strapped themselves into ropes to help bring the woman to safety, police said.

She was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue.
