Some Baltimore City students have turned to the power of the pencil to fight for more school funding. They're sending postcards to both the mayor and governor asking for financial help for city schools. What took place Friday across the city is very much a part of the district's writing curriculum. It was an assignment, not for a grade, but hopefully one that will get results. In Mrs. Hawkins' kindergarten class at Abbottston Elementary School, students received final instructions before writing postcards to Gov. Larry Hogan.
