Video Shows Texas Cop Barely Escaping Massive House Explosion

Dash cam footage shows the moment a massive explosion rocked a Texas house after a driver plowed into the home's gas meter.

A family of three were inside. The mother suffered critical burns and remains hospitalized. Her husband was seriously burned and their son had minor injuries. The parents are expected to recover.

The explosion also played out on a neighbor's surveillance camera across the street.

The driver of a white SUV, identified by police as Alejandro Enrique-Castro, lost control and crashed into a main gas line. As two officers approached the home, a huge fireball erupted, nearly knocking one cop off his feet. He is seen running away

The eruption lifted the roof and knocked out the home's back wall. The woman was trapped in a bedroom and her husband and son were frantically trying to dig her out, police said.

Officer Travis Hiser and Corporal Ryan Tooker were treated and released for minor injuries sustained while aiding the victims, according to a statement from the Hurst Police Department.

Enrique-Castro, 35, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of not possessing a driver's license, police said. He was transferred to federal custody on an immigration-related offence, authorities said.
