Video shows Las Vegas-area woman shooting neighbors, leading to pastor’s death

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KLAS) — Video shows the moment a neighbor shot a father in front of his children amid ongoing complaints to their homeowners’ association, according to documents the 8 News Now Investigators reviewed.

Joe Junio, 36, faces charges of murder with the use of a deadly weapon, attempted murder, child abuse and other charges stemming from the Dec. 29, 2023, killing of 46-year-old Nick Davi. A Clark County grand jury voted to indict Junio last week.

Video shown to the grand jury shows Junio pulling into a driveway and speaking with Nick Davi before getting out of the car and shooting him. One of Davi’s children was recording.

The Davi family and Junio shared a common wall at North Las Vegas complex, a homicide detective told the grand jury. Junio exhibited “escalating threatening behavior” after the family reported her to the HOA for violations related to chickens and dogs, a police report said.

In response, Junio started harassing and threatening the family, resulting in them calling the police on her twice in the month before the shooting, according to the report.

“At this time, the Davi family was packing up to actually go to a friend’s house and stay the night because they didn’t feel safe in their home so,” the detective told the grand jury about the moments before the shooting.

“When I got to the car, Joe, the neighbor, was driving slow roll, mad mug us right in front of our car,” Sarah Davi, Nick Davi’s wife, told the grand jury. “It’s not the first time this had happened. We did know to get a video. My daughter was in the back seat getting a video. She came by again in front of our car.  We’re pulling out of the driveway, or our car is headed out of the driveway as she pulls in front, slow roll, mad mug, stops, stares, death stare at us, and then pulls directly into her driveway so that the two driver side driver doors are closest to each other.”

“Why don’t you leave us alone? We’ve had enough,” Davi is heard in the video as Junio glares at him.

“What’s that?” she says from the driver’s seat, Sarah Davi testified to the grand jury. Sarah Davi said she believed Junio noticed her daughter filming the conversation from the backseat. Also in the backseat were Nick and Sarah Davi’s son and their dog.

“What’s your problem with us?” Davi said before Junio got out of the car and shot at him, the video showed.

One of the victims fought over the gun with Junio before she ran away to her apartment, police said. Sarah Davi was also shot, she told the grand jury.

In addition to criminal charges, Junio faces a wrongful death lawsuit Davi filed in January. In addition to Junio, the lawsuit lists the person who owned the firearm used to shoot the couple as a party, though the exact owner of the weapon was unknown at the time of the lawsuit’s filing.

Davi was a pastor at Grace Point Church in North Las Vegas. He moved to North Las Vegas in 2005 after leaving the South after Hurricane Katrina, the lawsuit said.

The lawsuit does not name the homeowners’ association, but alleges the community “provided information to [the] defendant regarding complaints deceased made about [the] defendant.”

The lawsuit lists wrong death, among other causes of action, and asks a jury to award damages above $15,000, the standard minimum in Nevada civil lawsuits.

Junio remained in custody at the Clark County Detention Center as of Monday where she was held without bail. She was due to be arraignment on March 14.

Through her attorneys, Sarah Davi declined to comment on the video.
