VIDEO: Man shot during drive-by in Frayser apartments

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was injured while sleeping in a car during a drive-by shooting in a Frayser apartment complex last month.

On March 31, officers say they responded to a shots fired call at the Ridgecrest Apartments on Woodcliff Drive around 5:40 a.m.

Driver found asleep in running, stolen car at Huey’s, police say

MPD says the victims were sleeping in the car when they were woken by gunfire. One of the victims was injured and taken to Regional One Hospital.

Video surveillance captured a gray Chevrolet Malibu pulling into the apartments and driving directly toward the victim’s car.

The Malibu then circled the victim’s car and began to fire several shots, police say. As the Malibu drove off, the suspect continued to shoot in the direction of the victims.

According to police, the suspect was a male and his vehicle had damage on the driver’s side.

No arrests have been made at this time, but this is still an ongoing investigation.
