An increase in military spending could help Maryland in a big way, but at a cost. President Donald Trump announced Monday that he wants to increase military spending by $54 billion while making cuts to other programs to get to that number. It's no secret that Maryland has many military contractors and institutions, like the Naval Academy in Annapolis, and while President Trump's proposed military budget would help them, economists said it really could be a double-edged sword.
