Rubenstein is the co-founder and co-chief executive officer of The Carlyle Group. From 1977 to 1981, he was Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy during the Carter administration; from 1975 to 1976, he served as Chief Counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Constitutional Amendments.
