Victim dies after shooting at Macon convenience store. Suspect charged with murder

A suspect has been charged with murder in a shooting that occurred at a Macon Sunoco after the victim died from his injuries, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

The shooting happened April 7 at the Sunoco located on Log Cabin Drive. Deputies said they responded to a report of a person shot and found Robert Pleasant, 64, injured from a gunshot wound. Pleasant was taken to Atrium Health Navicent where he was previously reported in stable condition, according to officials. But Pleasant died from his injuries Monday, the sheriff’s office said.

Suspect Edwardo Eugene Bigelow Jr., a 25-year-old Macon resident, has been charged with murder.

Reports said the shooting was a result of an altercation that occurred inside the store, according to the sheriff’s office.

Shortly after the shooting, deputies took Bigelow into custody.

Bigelow was being held without bond.
