Elmira, N.Y. (WETM) – A very warm overnight is with us before showers and possible storms return.

TONIGHT:

Skies will be partly cloudy for the overnight with a few showers possible primarily after midnight. We will be quite warm with lows near sixty along with a calm breeze.

TUESDAY:

We will be in and out of sunshine for the morning on Tuesday. Showers and possible storms move in once we get into the afternoon. There shouldn’t be much severe risks as our area is currently only in a t-storm risk in the severity scale by the Storm Prediction Center. Highs on Tuesday will reach the upper seventies to near eighty with a breeze from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.

REST OF THE WEEK:

We begin to dry out as we get into midweek. Clouds will be on the decrease back to partly cloudy as we get into Wednesday. It will be a bit cooler behind a low pressure system that moves in on Tuesday. Highs will be in the lower to mid seventies on Wednesday. Lots of sunshine will be with us on Thursday for the second half of the week. Skies will be mostly sunny as high pressure moves back in. We will be on the warmer side again with highs in the upper seventies on Thursday. We end the work week on Friday with more cloud cover. Skies will be mostly cloudy with highs still in the upper seventies.

WEEKEND:

We start off the weeeknd with some showers and some cooler air as a front moves through. Highs on Saturday will only be in the upper sixties. We dry out to end the weekend. Skies will be mostly cloudy on Sunday with highs near seventy.

NEXT WEEK:

We clear to a mixture of clouds and sun on Monday to start off the new work week. Warmth will return with highs in the mid seventies.
