Vehicle submerged in a Wisconsin lake for over two decades removed, stolen in 1999

LAKE HOLCOMBE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin removed a vehicle that had been submerged in a lake for the past two decades on Monday.

According to the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies removed a vehicle from Lake Holcombe, which is believed to have been there for at least twenty years. Deputies say there is no active or ongoing investigation, but the vehicle was reported stolen all the way back in 1999.

“Thank you to the Chippewa Fire District Dive Team, WI DNR, and Hotshot Towing for their assistance in the removal,” stated the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office.
