Vehicle engulfed in flames on Bay Bridge

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A pickup truck caught fire on the Bay Bridge on Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officials shared the news at approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday, saying a “fully engulfed vehicle fire” is blocking several lanes on Interstate 80 westbound west of Treasure Island Road in San Francisco.

The left and center lanes were blocked. Drivers were advised to expect delays and to use alternate routes to avoid the area. Fire and tow services were routed to the car to remove the vehicle.
