Vehicle crashes into West Sacramento sushi restaurant

(FOX40.COM) — A West Sacramento restaurant was struck by a car early Thursday morning, according to the West Sacramento Police Department.

Police said the crash happened at 4:30 a.m. on Lake Road off Interstate 80 and the building was unoccupied at the time.

The car backed through the glass doors of Oishii Teriyaki Sushi, causing significant damage to the restaurant’s entrance.

Fire crews later pulled the car out of the business.

Police said it is believed a medical emergency caused the accident, but there was no information on injuries.

The restaurant told FOX40.com that operations are going on as usual for dine-in and take out.

A Facebook post from the restaurant shows the business boarded up in the area where the car crashed into.
