VB man pleads guilty to downloading ‘massive amounts’ of child sexual abuse material

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A Virginia Beach man pled guilty on Thursday to downloading ‘massive amounts’ of child sexual abuse material.

In March of 2021, the FBI began an investigation after hundreds of requests for suspected images of child sexual abuse material were linked to an IP address in Virginia Beach belonging to 51-year-old Kevin Javon Taylor, court documents reveal.

The FBI was able to execute a search warrant at Taylor’s residence on June 6, 2021, where they found indications of child sexual abuse material on his electronic device, as well as three physical binders containing printed child sexual abuse material.

According to court documents, approximately 14,100 images and 642 videos of child sexual abuse material and over 90,000 images of child erotica were found after a review of Taylor’s electronic devices.

The files were found stored across 33 different devices. Physical copies were also found.

Taylor faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison, with a maximum penalty of 20 years. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 5.
