Vanderburgh County residents recall "wild" and "eerie" Tuesday morning weather

VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) -- Vanderburgh County neighborhoods were no exception to damages on Tuesday morning because of storms. Tuesday morning's storms left parts of homes, tree branches and other debris scattered across roads -- especially all the Mill Creek Estates and Grandin Pointe communities where heavy rain and high-speed winds damaged homes. Residents tell us the weather was nothing short of "wild" and "eerie." Alicia Magana and Marley Russell's front porch awning was almost completely ripped off from the storms. They say this was not an event they have experienced before. "I didn't get scared until I felt the floor vibrate," Russell says. "I was thinking, 'okay, now this is a tornado, and we got to do something.'" After that short thought, the family decided to huddle together. "We were sitting in the bathtub, and our mom was praying," says Magana. "I was over there screaming, 'I don't want to die.' She was sitting there all calm -- kind of crying -- but I was like, 'What? How are you able to be calm in the situation?'"
