Valley Healthcare receives $1.4 million in federal funding

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A local nonprofit is receiving more than a million dollars from a federal grant. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded $4.8 million to health care centers across Georgia as part of Health Center Program grants.

Valley Healthcare received $1.4 million to continue operating in Columbus.

“Our mission remains to remove the barriers that limit access to comprehensive health care services in our community,” said Dr. Asante Hilts, CEO of Valley Healthcare System Inc.

Dr. Hilts said continued funding will allow Valley Healthcare to serve Columbus residents.
