Valerie Knight, ‘Breakfast Club’ co-host, out at 98.1 WOGL
Valerie Knight of 98.1 WOGL’s "The Breakfast Club" is no longer with the station, the morning show co-host announced via social media this week.
Knight, who began working at the station in 2002, confirmed her departure on social media on Monday:
WOGL cut me loose Friday and it's time to move on. Nice ride for nearly 15 years #onwardandupward #changes

In a Facebook posting from Monday, the former WOGL personality also thanked fans “for being such great listeners and friends for all these years,” and noted that “now the possibilities for me are endless.”
@jdelcolliano Thanks Jerry! Onward and upward. I'm moving on daddy

WOGL could not be immediately reached for comment. However, program manager Anne Gress told industry news site All Access Music Group that Knight “is no longer with WOGL” and that “a replacement has not yet been named.”
Knight’s departure is the latest at WOGL, which last year also saw former "Breakfast Club" host Ross Brittain’s departure, and the axing of former longtime nighttime radio jock Bob Charger. Former general manager Jim Loftus also departed in July last year after accepting a buyout package, according to Philadelphia Business Journal.
CBS, WOGL’s parent company, earlier this year began selling off many of its 117 radio stations, according to the Daily News. In Philadelphia, the company also owns KYW 1060 Newsradio, 610WIP, WPHT 1210 talk radio, AMP Radio 96.5, and 92.5 WXTU.
WOGL, meanwhile, announced in March this year plans to move from 4th and Market Streets to an office building at 555 City Line Ave. in Bala Cynwyd, where 92.5 WXTU and 96.5 AMP Radio are located. The station, which plays “Philadelphia’s greatest hits,” is regularly among the top radio outlets in the Philadelphia market for total listeners.
