The V90 Is Volvo's First Full Sized Wagon in Ages

From Road & Track

Leaked images of the new Volvo V90 full-sized station wagon just surfaced before its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. We knew the car was coming, but these are the first images we have of it.

The wagon-to-crossover ratio is currently very skewed in the American automotive market, with crossovers outnumbering wagons. Thankfully, Volvo, fighting the good fight, will add another wagon to the currently sparse selection. The V90 is the wagon version of the new S90, and it is every bit as handsome.

Like the S90, we expect the V90 to offer buyers three engines: A turbo four with 250 hp, a turbocharged and supercharged for making 316 hp, and a plugin hybrid version that will likely make 410 hp.

The S90 will be the first car that comes with semi-autonomous driving as a standard feature. There is no word yet on whether the V90 will offer the same ability, but it seems likely it will. Especially if you consider Volvo's Vision 2020 goal, where it hopes to eliminate deaths and serious injuries in its cars by 2020.

We'll have more info on the V90 in the coming days and weeks.
