Utilities: Less than 30,000 without power in Pa.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Utility officials say fewer than 30,000 customers remain without power in Pennsylvania, down from the 1.2 million outages across the commonwealth during last week's major storm.
Peco said 12,000 customers were without power Monday morning, including 8,000 in Bucks County and 3,000 in Montgomery County. FirstEnergy Corp. reports almost 12,300 customers without electric service and PPL says just under 5,000 customers are still without power.
State officials say eight polling places were without power as of Monday morning, down from more than 250 late last week. But county officials say one of those, in Northampton County, has power and Monroe County officials say two there should be powered by day's end.
Five are in Bucks County, where the elections board plans an emergency meeting. The other is in Montgomery County.
