Utah murder suspect arrested in Fruita

FRUITA, Colo. (KREX) — A murder suspect out of Utah was arrested in Fruita over the weekend.

Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputies and Colorado State Patrol officers set up surveillance along I-70 on Sunday, March 3 after the Murray, Utah Police Department told them a homicide suspect was driving east towards Mesa County, according to official reports.

Officers were unable to find the car on the highway and decided to search Fruita for the suspect. A deputy then found the suspect’s car at a gas station in Fruita and arrested 20-year-old Jhon Alvaro-Alarcon Predes and took him to the Mesa County Detention Facility where he awaits extradition from Utah law enforcement.
