A Utah dog is among the semi-finalists to become the nation’s Easter Bunny
WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4) — A Utah dog is among the semi-finalists to become the nation’s Easter Bunny this year.
Harper, an 8-year-old yorkie from West Valley City, is one of the top 32 pets nationwide auditioning to be the Cadbury Easter Bunny for this year’s holidays. If she gets enough votes to make it to victory, she’ll be featured in commercials promoting the fan-favorite Easter candy.

According to Harper’s biography, she had been neglected for the first six months of her life, though that hasn’t stopped her from living her best life. She is flourishing with her new owner, Stephanie Wilson. Wilson explained that Harper’s favorite things are snuggles, belly rubs and her singing.
Harper has some stiff competition, though. Several cats, dogs, lizards, birds, horses, ponies, actual bunnies and even a raccoon and a goat are putting on bunny ears trying to win America’s heart and become this year’s Easter Bunny.
“We would absolutely love it if our amazing community would support us during the voting stages,” said Wilson. “We want to make our great state of Utah proud to be a part of this process.”
Voting for the Bunny Tryouts competition begins on Monday, March 11 in the “Round of Thirty-Cute.” By March 13, the contest will be down to the “Creme 16” finalists followed by the “Eggcellent 8” on March 18 and the “Final Fur” on March 20.
A Championship Match between the last two finalists standing will be held on Friday, March 22, which Harper hopes to be a part of. The winning Cadbury bunny will be announced on Monday, March 25, six days before Easter Sunday.
