KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) – It’s been a busy week for Tennessee football in this last week of March – from the team’s first spring scrimmage to the Pro Day of quarterback Joe Milton III.

With all the activity, veteran guys like sixth-year senior Dayne Davis become that much more important on the field and in the locker room.

In speaking with reporters earlier in the week, the Bluff City, Tennessee native revealed he takes pride in being both the ultimate teammate and utility man for the Big Orange offensive line.

“You know, just being that guy where if we need a spot on the O-Line to step up – be that player,” he said. “Just being able to move around I feel like has given me recognition with guys that are around me. Just helping them out, helping them learn the offense – Lance [Heard] just getting here – helping him learn the offense and slowing things down for him a little bit.”

“Just really helping where I can – being a teammate to everybody and just being there for the O-Line.”

Davis has played in 13 games in each of the last three seasons on Rocky Top, making starts at both right tackle and center this past fall.
