USA Network has found its new unscripted executive.
Electus' Jessica Sebastian, who previously served as senior director development at NBCUniversal's late Style Network, has joined the cabler as vp unscripted series, USA announced on Thursday.
Reporting to original programming exec vp Jackie de Crinis, Sebastian will oversee USA's unscripted fare and head both development and current for the slate, taking a leading role on the net's breakout series Chrisley Knows Best.
During her 14-year career, Sebastian has served as director and showrunner on reality competition and unscripted docudramas. She comes to USA from Electus, where she was vp development, working on for TruTV, Style By Jury for TLC and Southern Justice for Nat Geo.
"We are thrilled to add Jessica’s expertise in the unscripted space to our senior creative team at USA Network,” de Crinis said. “Her work as a producer, director, showrunner and creative executive brings a multifaceted perspective to our burgeoning efforts.”
Before Electus, Sebastian was an executive at the Style Network and produced the pilot Nailed It, which now airs on Oxygen. She started her career in unscripted development at Original Media, where she served as vp. While at Original, Sebastian worked as showrunner for Bravo’s The Rachel Zoe Project and a worked on Be Good Johnny Weir and Ink Master. Her other credits include Wife Swap, What Not to Wear and the U.K.'s The Soup.
Sebastian fills a post vacated by Heather Olander, who transitioned to USA sibling network Syfy, where she oversees their alternative department.
Aside from Chrisley, which was renewed for a third season for a spring return, USA has struggled to carve out a niche in the reality space.
