U.S. Senator Roger Wicker has tested positive for COVID-19 a second time, according to a Friday tweet.

Wicker, Mississippi's senior Republican senator, said he is fully vaccinated. However, it was not immediately clear whether his vaccination status includes a booster shot.

Despite the positive result, Wicker said he is "in good health."

"I will work from home for the next few days," Wicker's tweet read. "I look forward to being back in person soon."

Wicker, 70, first tested positive for the coronavirus Aug. 19. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is currently studying COVID-19 reinfections, identifying risk factors, timelines of a second infection and symptom severity.
