US to provide over $500 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine

Washington will provide over $500 million in humanitarian aid to the Ukrainians who have suffered from the full-scale Russian invasion, USAID announced via Twitter on July 17.

The new funding will be used to provide food, medical services, temporary housing, and create safe spaces for women and girls who have been affected by the war. Additionally, psychosocial assistance will be provided to the most vulnerable populations, along with multi-purpose cash assistance.

On July 17, the head of USAID, Samantha Power, arrived in Kyiv. Power had already visited the capital in October 2022.

On July 7, the United States announced another package of military aid for Ukraine, which included DPICM cluster munitions.
