US Marshals arrest Cleveland homicide suspects in separate states

CLEVELAND (WJW) – A 17-year-old girl and a 21-year-old man were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force on Monday for two separate homicides in Cleveland.

According to a press release from the U.S. Marshals NOVFTF, the task force arrested the 17-year-old in the morning on the 3200 block of W. 44th Street in Cleveland.

Schools sending students home due to weather concerns

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, two juveniles were in the backseat of a car when they shot and killed a 39-year-old man who was driving the vehicle in the back of the head on March 1.

The vehicle then crashed near West 23rd Street and Broadview Road. The juveniles then fled the scene, according to police.

According to the release, a 14-year-old boy surrendered to Cleveland police last week in connection to the shooting.

According to the press release, 21-year-old Mar’Shawn Johnson was arrested Monday evening in Huntsville, Alabama in connection to a Cleveland shooting.

Child, teen killed in I-90 crash identified

According to the release, Cleveland officers responded to a man with multiple gunshot wounds on the 1700 block of W. 25th Street in Cleveland on January 13.

Johnson was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with Roderick Phillips, 49. That is when Johnson pulled out a gun and shot Phillips and fled the scene, according to the release.

Phillips was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Johnson at a home in Huntsville, Alabama on Monday.
