US Marshals arrest 18-year-old for Cleveland apartment murder

CLEVELAND (WJW) – A teen accused of killing a woman in her Cleveland apartment earlier this month has been arrested, according to U.S. Marshals.

Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 18-year-old Leonai Johnson Wednesday morning. Investigators say she was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder.

Cleveland police officers were called to a shooting in the 2400 block of Central Avenue on Friday, May 3.

When they arrived, officers found the victim, 28-year-old Christie Bozeman, in her apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. She was later pronounced dead at MetroHealth hospital.

According to U.S. Marshals, detectives identified the suspect as Johnson and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Johnson was arrested in an apartment near the 2400 block of Central Avenue.

“The U.S. Marshals and the Cleveland Division of Police will continue to work hand in hand to make the city of Cleveland safer,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott in a press release. “Those who commit violent crimes will be charged and our task force will relentlessly pursue them until their arrest.”
