Urology Clinic announces improved imaging for prostate cancer patients

The Columbia Memorial Hospital — Oregon Health & Science University Health Urology Clinic is now able to offer men with prostate cancer targeted positron emission tomography imaging with Pylarify, an imaging agent approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to identify suspected metastasis or a return of prostate cancer.

"Prostate cancer imaging plays a vital role in helping to detect and monitor prostate cancer progression," Dr. Grecori Anderson, of the Urology Clinic, said in a statement. "There are several types of imaging tests, but not all imaging scans are the same. Using Pylarify will give us a better image of where the prostate cancer is, helping us work with our patients for more informed treatment choices."
