Urbana’s E. Main Street closing Tuesday morning for police memorial service
URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The Urbana Public Works Department is giving locals a heads-up that East Main Street will be closed on Tuesday morning for the Champaign County Police Memorial Service.

Beginning at 9 a.m., the road will not be open to through traffic from South Broadway Avenue to South Vine Street. City officials said it should reopen around 11:30 a.m.
The memorial will be held at the Champaign County Courthouse, and follows up the Champaign Police Department’s memorial service the same morning. The services honor law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
These events take place amid National Police Week on May 12-18, which provides an opportunity to recognize police officers and their sacrifice.
