Upper Arlington restaurant closes, will reopen under new management

UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (WCMH) — A restaurant that has been in business since the 1950s is closing temporarily, along with management changes.

Chef-O-Nette, located at 2090 Tremont Center, announced on social media that its closing for three to four months for remodeling. The restaurant will get a new HVAC system, restrooms, carpet and more. The post also mentioned that Chef-O-Nette will reopen under new management.

Chef-O-Nette told NBC4 that owner Harlan Howard sold the business to Michael Purdum, who owns the Old Bag of Nails restaurants in Ohio and Michigan. In a social media post, Chef-O-Nette thanked the community for its support for the last 50-plus years.

Since 1955, Chef-O-Nette has been serving a variety of food, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. According to its website, the restaurant is home to one of the first drive-thrus in the nation.

Chef-O-Nette is set to reopen later this summer.
