UPMC launches new spine care program in Central Pa.

CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA (WHTM) — UPMC recently announced that it has launched its new Spine Care Program.

According to UPMC, their newly launched Spine Care Program is designed to connect patients with a multi-disciplinary team of experts in order to evaluate and treat a variety of conditions, ranging from spine tumors, scoliosis, back pain, and weakness/ numbness in the arms and legs.

“Spine conditions can cause pain or an inability to do everyday tasks, which can severely impact a patient’s quality of life,” Bryan Bolinger, D.O., neurosurgeon, UPMC Spine Care in Central Pa. said. “Our goal as a care team is to collaborate with patients on a personalized care plan that will get them back to doing the things they love most.”

The new UPMC Spine Care in Central Pa. is comprised of eight physicians and six advanced practice providers. The new program also combines experts from neurosurgery, orthopedics, rehabilitation medicine, and pain management to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
