UPMC Harrisburg welcomes Leap Day baby

(WHTM)– February 29 is the rarest birthday you can have with Leap Day only coming once every four years.

Early Thursday morning, UPMC Harrisburg welcomed its first Leap Year baby of the day, Rian Gutshall-Range, born to Sasha and Stephen just after 1 a.m.

For months, Sasha had a feeling this would happen.

“I called it around July about six months back,” Sasha said. “I was like yup, I’m pretty sure it’s gonna either be my birthday or Leap Year and I’m okay with it because I’m a pretty unique individual so it’s like, having a Leap Year baby in my family is just.”
