JANESVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – One person was arrested and two victims were injured after what authorities are calling an ‘unprovoked act of violence’ occurred inside a Wisconsin Walgreens on Saturday.

According to the Janesville Police Department, first responders arrived at the Walgreens in the 1900 block of West Court Street around 9:35 p.m. on May 18 and found two victims with multiple stab wounds inside the store.

First aid was provided to the victims before they were taken to a local hospital for further treatment. The suspect, however, fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.

Other officers and deputies from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office set up a perimeter around the area before a drone was used to help find the suspect walking ‘near the scene.’ Contact was then made with the suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Edward Toyer, who was taken into custody without incident.
