Unofficial results: Municipal elections in Bay bring new leaders to PCB, Mexico Beach

Multiple new leaders are slated to take charge following the 2024 municipal elections in Bay County.

According to the unofficial results listed Tuesday evening on the Bay County Supervisor of Elections Office website, new leaders were elected in both Panama City Beach and Mexico Beach.

In Panama City Beach, Stuart Tettemer beat incumbent Mark Sheldon for mayor. Tettemer secured 2,033 votes or about 58%, while Sheldon secured 1,496 votes or about 42%.

In Mexico Beach, 348 residents or about 63% voted to recall Michele Miller as mayor. Richard Wolff, the sitting Group 5 council member, beat Erik Fosshage in a special election to decide Miller's replacement. Wolff secured 290 voted or about 58%, while Fosshage secured 206 votes or about 42%.

Jason Adams beat Lisa Logan and Cindy Jolley for the Group 4 seat on the Mexico Beach City Council. Adams secured 284 votes or about 51%, while Logan secured 155 votes or about 28%, and Jolley secured 113 votes or about 20%. Adams will replace Adrian Welle, who did not seek re-election.

Tim Linderman defeated Larry Henderson to be Wolff's replacement for the Group 5 seat. Linderman secured 392 votes or about 72%, while Henderson secured 154 votes or about 28%.

In Callaway, incumbent Bob Pelletier beat Christine Smallwood for the Ward 3 seat. Pelletier secured 455 votes or about 62%, while Smallwood secured 282 votes or about 38%.

Incumbent Kenneth Ayers beat David Agosta for the Ward 4 seat on the Callaway Commission. Ayers secured 447 votes or about 62%, while Agosta secured 270 votes or about 38%.

The Bay County Supervisor of Elections Office website notes that 2,075 people voted on election day, 1,593 voted during early voting and 1,168 voted by mail.

Of the voters who participated in the 2024 municipal elections in Bay County, 3,227 were Republicans, 878 were Democrats, 635 did not have a party affiliation and 98 were categorized as other.
