UNOFFICIAL ELECTION RESULTS: Ginn retains Chickasha City Council seat, new members to join

Apr. 2—A trio of Chickasha City Council races took place on Tuesday night.

Incumbent Kea Ginn will serve another term for Ward 1 after beating candidate David Lucas. Charlie Burress won a Ward 2 seat against Daniel Terry. John Smith came out on top against two candidates, Eric Anderson and Isaac DeLeon, for a Ward 4 seat.

The Ward 1 and Ward 4 races were on an even keel as all nine precincts were reported the Oklahoma Election Board. There was a switch midway between Burress and Terry for the Ward 2 seat, but Burress nosed back to the lead by a handful of votes.

As of April 2, the unofficial results from the election board are as follows: In Ward 1, Ginn ended the race with 444 votes (63.43%) versus Lucas' 256 votes (35.57%). In Ward 2, Burruss reestablished his lead and ended the race with just three more total votes than Terry. Burruss ended the race with 363 votes (50.21%) versus Terry's 360 votes (49.79%). In Ward 4, Smith stayed ahead of the pack with 404 votes (57.22%). Anderson ended his race with 256 votes (36.26%) and DeLeon ended with 46 votes (6.52%).

Earlier this year, current Chickasha Vice-Mayor Zachary Grayson ran unopposed for mayor. Erica Alexander ran unopposed for the Ward 4 seat, as previously reported.

All elected and incoming members will be sworn in on April 15.
