United Way of Mower raises just over $1.2 million from Community Campaign
May 16—United Way of Mower County (UWMC) concluded its annual Community Campaign having raised $1,209,912 million for local nonprofit organizations this year.
A press release from the organization Thursday stated that while the 2023-24 results fell short of the $1,275,000 fundraising goal, the organization was proud to report a 3% increase from the 2022-23 Community Campaign and credits the caring power of Mower County for the boost.
"Our mission at UWMC is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities," said Molly Lanke, Executive Director of UWMC. "We are grateful to our supporters and funded partners who work tirelessly to break down barriers and create opportunities for those who need us most."
Through strategic investments and sustainable solutions that lift our neighbors in need, United Way represents the ideal way to maximize charitable giving and community impact. Thanks to the generous contributions of over 2,500 individuals, businesses, and foundations, UWMC has
invested in 24 organizations coordinating 38 programs that advance the education, health, financial stability, and basic needs of our neighbors.
"We are thrilled with the success of this year's Community Campaign, which is a testament to the incredible generosity of our community, the strength of our cross-sector partnerships and collaborations, and the dedication of our team and volunteers," Lanke said. "Most importantly, this campaign has demonstrated the power of collective impact and the ability of our community to come together to create positive change."
