United Stainless, maker of steel tubing, expanding facility in Selmer, adding 25 jobs

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee officials say steel tubing manufacturer United Stainless Inc. plans to invest $3.4 million in the expansion of its facility in Selmer.

Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty says the expansion will include a 30,000-square-foot building addition that will house cutting and fabricating equipment, along with more efficient storage and handling.

United Stainless is expected to add 25 manufacturing jobs over the next two years as part of the expansion.

United Stainless says it provides stainless and corrosion-resistant alloys that add strength, bendability and longevity to its stainless steel tubing products.

Based in Beloit, Wis., United Industries currently operates two companies in Selmer, United Stainless and United Industries Cutting & Fabricating.
