United Airlines flight to Newark diverted to Maine due to unruly passengers: officials

NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) – A United Airlines flight headed to Newark from London was diverted Friday due to two intoxicated passengers, according to the airline.

United Airlines Flight 883 took off from Heathrow Airport and landed at Bangor International Airport in Maine at 10 a.m., according to the FAA.

Two passengers, who appeared intoxicated, became disruptive on the flight, the airline said. Law enforcement removed them from the flight at Bangor before continuing its trek to Newark, officials said.

The flight landed without incident at Newark Liberty International Airport.
