Uncle Julio’s closes in Lincoln Park

CHICAGO — The popular Mexican restaurant chain Uncle Julio’s closed its doors for good Wednesday after over three decades in Lincoln Park.

Eater Chicago reports the restaurant’s president said in a statement that the North side Location closed due to rising rent.

Uncle Julio’s arrived in Lincoln Park in the early ‘90s and helped spur development along the  now bustling Clybourn Corridor.
