UNA Football releases 2024 football schedule

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) — The University of North Alabama announced its 2024 football schedule Friday morning.

For the second consecutive year, the Lions will play the first FCS football game of the season at the FCS Kickoff at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery. UNA hopes to improve on a 3-8 season a year ago.

Coach Brent Dearmon will be in his second season at the helm and the Lions will have a lighter schedule than the one in 2023. However, Dearmon says his team will still be tested.

“One year removed from the second-toughest schedule in football, we once again have one of the best schedules in all of FCS,” said Dearmon. “This schedule will test our players and staff and prepare us to become the team we want to be.”

  • August 24 – Southeast Missouri (FCS Kickoff) in Montgomery

  • August 31 – @ Memphis

  • September 7 – Illinois State (Home Opener)

  • September 14 – @ UT Martin

  • September 28 – West Georgia

  • October 5 – Utah Tech

  • October 12 – Abilene Christian (Homecoming)

  • October 26 – @ Central Arkansas

  • November 2 – Austin Peay

  • November 9 – @ Eastern Kentucky

  • November 16 – Southern Utah

  • November 23 – @ Stephen F. Austin
