UK's King Charles visits cancer charity in first public engagement since announcing illness

King Charles has returned to public duties after receiving medical treatment with a trip to a cancer charity.

The event marks the king’s first formal public engagement since Buckingham Palace announced he was undergoing therapy for an undisclosed type of cancer.

The UK’s National Health Service has said the number of people seeking advice about prostate problems increased elevenfold following the King’s announcement.

The UK's data protection watchdog has closed an almost year-long investigation of Snap's AI chatbot, My AI -- saying it's satisfied the social media firm has addressed concerns about risks to children's privacy. At the same time, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) issued a general warning to industry to be proactive about assessing risks to people's rights before bringing generative AI tools to market. GenAI refers to a flavor of AI that often foregrounds content creation.

It’s been three years since Spotify acquired live audio startup Betty Labs, and yet the music streaming service isn’t leveraging the technology to its fullest potential—at least not in our opinion. Microsoft upgrades its AI app-building platforms
Microsoft's big focus at this year's Build conference is generative AI. Azure AI Studio is a toolset within Microsoft's Azure OpenAI Service that lets customers combine an AI model like OpenAI’s recently announced GPT-4o with their own data and build a chat assistant or another type of app that "reasons over" that data. Copilot Studio, meanwhile, provides tools to connect Copilot for Microsoft 365 -- the AI-powered "copilot" in apps like Excel, Word and PowerPoint as well as Microsoft’s Edge browser and Windows -- to third-party data.

Creators in the program will get support from TikTok, and on each creator's behalf, TikTok will donate $25,000 to a non-profit of their choice.
