Ukrenergo warns of potential evening power outages in Ukraine after Russian attack
Following the Russian attack early on May 8, power cuts may affect residential and industrial consumers across Ukraine from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Ukrenergo reported on Telegram.
Restrictions will be evenly applied in all oblasts. Rolling blackout schedules for each area will be posted on local power distribution companies' official pages.
The outages stem from electricity shortages in the grid, caused by new damage to Ukrainian power plant equipment due to Russian strikes.

Ukrenergo anticipates challenges on May 8, from 6 to 11 p.m. The company's dispatch center is taking all available measures to overcome the shortage, including imports and emergency electricity from European power systems.
The company also encourages Ukrainians to use electricity efficiently. Russian strikes have led to fresh blackouts in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, and Sumy oblasts.
