Ukraine's power grid operator Ukrenergo canceled the scheduled power outages for today, May 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., power utility company Yasno CEO Serhiy Kovalenko said on Facebook.

The outages might resume at 3:00 p.m., he said.

Hourly power outage schedules were reportedly set to be in effect on May 24 for industrial and residential consumers across Ukraine from midnight to midnight. Power supply to critical infrastructure facilities providing essential services to the population would not be limited, Ukrenergo said.

In Kyiv, the hourly power outage schedules were expected to be in effect throughout the day on May 24.

Ukrenergo directed that these schedules apply to both industrial and residential consumers in Kyiv from midnight to midnight on May 24.

Existing generation capacity covers only 75% of electricity demand in Kyiv as of May 23, according to DTEK power utility company.
