Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson, Ilya Yevlash, addressed the downing of a Russian drone by a piston-powered Yak-52 trainer aircraft on national television on April 30.

"Ukraine approaches such issues in a non-standard way," Yevlash said.

"We use innovative forms and methods. Mobile fire groups, for instance, have proven highly effective. To be honest, we lack the means to effectively combat such low-profile targets."

The Russian Orlan-10 was shot down in Odesa by a Yak-52 aircraft, which lacks both weapons and targeting systems.
